Privacy Policy

BCS Memory Box, LLC ("we," "us") helps you record and preserve your life story. We know the stories and details you share are personal, and we treat them that way. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details — your name and email address.
- Your recordings and stories — the audio you record, the transcripts made from it, and the finished written memoir.
- Photos — any pictures you choose to add to your story.
- Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Basic technical data — standard information your browser sends (such as general usage needed to operate the site).
How we use it
We use your information for one purpose: to create and deliver your memoir, and to communicate with you about it. Specifically, to transcribe your recordings, polish them into written prose, deliver your document, and provide support and revisions.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, ever. Your stories are shared only with you and the people you choose. To run the service, we use a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf and only for our purposes:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- AssemblyAI — converts your audio to text.
- Anthropic — AI that helps polish the transcript into clean prose.
- Cloudflare — secure storage of your audio and documents.
- Resend — sends our emails to you.
We may also disclose information if required by law.
How we protect and store it
Your recordings and documents are stored on secured, access-controlled services, and your private story link uses a long, random access code that is not guessable. Please keep your story link private — anyone with it can view your story.
How long we keep it
We keep your recordings and memoir so you can return to and add to your story. You may ask us to delete your recordings and personal data at any time by emailing us (see below). Some records may be retained as required for legal or accounting reasons.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to stop contacting you, by emailing kbakerbcs1@gmail.com. We will respond promptly.
Children
BCS Memory Box is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we update this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
