How Memory Box Works

A simple guide to recording your life story.

Welcome! Memory Box is the easy way to record your life story in your own voice — for your children, grandchildren, and the people who love you. There's nothing to figure out. Here's all there is to it.

1. Open your story page

You'll get an email from BCS Memory Box with your own private link. Click it, and your story page opens. You can come back anytime by clicking that same link again — bookmark it if you like.

2. Record a memory

Press the big Start recording button, then just talk — tell a story the way you'd tell it to a friend at the kitchen table. When you're finished, press Stop recording, then Save this recording. That's it. Record whenever a memory comes to mind.

3. Listen back

Want to hear what you recorded? Press the play button (▶) under your recording, and you'll hear it played right back.

4. Add a photo (optional)

Have a picture that goes with a story?

Give each photo a name and a date — for example, “Mom and Dad, Christmas 1975” — so we know who is who and when it was taken.

Forgot to name one, or want to change it later? No problem. Under any photo, just click “Add name + date” (or “Edit name” if it already has one) to add or update it anytime. Ken places the photos into your memoir for you.

5. Take your time

There's no rush and no schedule. Record one part at a time, over days or weeks. Four good things to talk about are your Family and Origins, Early Childhood, Family Life, and Reflections. Come back whenever you like.

6. When you're finished

Press "I'm done — turn my recordings into a memoir." Ken reads through everything, polishes it into a beautiful written memoir, and emails it to you as a document you can keep, print, or turn into a hardcover book.

Remembered more, or want a change? No problem — you can add more to your story anytime, or request a revision if you'd like something changed (your purchase includes two rounds of revisions). Questions? Email Ken anytime at hello@bcsmemorybox.com.
